We are a Jesus Church. A small tribe of His followers connected by our common faith and a deep desire to see our city [and the world] come to know His power and beauty. We are not perfect. But Jesus is. Thankfully, we are a Jesus Church.

We live in shifting times but are rooted in eternal truths, the teachings of Holy Scripture. Here at Hope Church we are guided by certain foundational beliefs and shaping values.
Our Story.
"God has been faithful, and we believe the best is still ahead."
Hope Church was planted on 1 March 2020 — a moment in history none of us will ever forget. Just weeks after launching, the world shut down as the COVID19 pandemic swept across the globe. While many churches were forced to close their doors, we sensed God leading us to adapt, innovate, and keep bringing hope to people in any way we could.

Out of that season, DriveThru Church was born. Families sat in their cars, tuned in, and heard the Word of God preached while safely distanced. It was unusual, creative, and unexpected — but God used it. Week after week, people gathered, and the gospel continued to be proclaimed. What the enemy meant for disruption, God turned into a doorway for connection, salvation, and community.

By God’s grace, we not only survived those early challenges — we began to thrive. Hope Church grew into a vibrant, joyful community committed to loving God, loving people, and loving Durban.
